High school days: We used to have this computer class from first year to fourth year. Our teachers taught us the basics and some concepts about the humble pc. I must admit I truly hated that subject.Maraming mga tinuro sa aming soft wares and programs. Wordstar, wordperfect, pascal, basic, lotus 123, and my favorite printshop were few of the programs I can remember. I can still remember na hindi ko minsan masagutan ang mga exam questions like: to open a file press ctrl+__, na ang simpleng sagot e "o" na kung iisipin e umpisa ng word na open. I was really a big jerk back then. Wala kasi akong interes sa computers. Yung tipong sa kawalan ng gana e hindi na iniintindi maging mga simpleng konsepto ukol dito. Plus, iisa lang ang instructor namin sa subject na ito from 2nd to 4th year. Actually nakakasawa kaya yun (with due respect sa instructor naming na paborito ang section namin kaya nya pilit kinukuha... can't blame him right hehehe)!
First year college: Nagkaroon ako ng project sa Filipino. Gagawa daw ng magazine. Ciempre e di ako nanaman ang pinuno ng grupo. Ako ang nag-encode at sa wordstar naming ginawa. Waaaaa! Di ko kasi alam na meron na palang Microsoft office na nun. This was the time na kakalaunch at papasikat pa lang ang windows and internet. Magpapaprint na ako. Punta ako sa Yahoo computer shop sa harap ng UE. Sabi nung me ari ng shop na medyo katabaan at may bigote ay sige i-open ko na ang file ko. *Reality Check* hindi ako marunong at medyo nataranta ako kaya napansin ito ng may-ari. "Marunong ka ba n'yan?" sabi ng mama sa nang-aalipustang tono. Para akong binuhusan ng malamig na tubig habang pinapalantsa ng mga sandaling iyon. Hiyang-hiya ako. Marami pang sumunod na mga di magagandang bagay na sinabi ng may-ari. Kasama ko si Michael nung mga panahong iyon. "May computer subject ako ng apat na taon simpleng bagay hindi ko alam… nakakahiya," ang paulit-ulit na sinasabi ko sa sarili ko. Ok lang naman kaya ng sumunod kaming magrent e nag Microsoft word na kami. Madali lang pala. User friendly – dun ko unang napatunayan na ang windows ay user-friendly. Madali lang gamitin. Basta nakakaintindi ka ng ingles at fast learner walang problema. Dun ko rin unang na experience gumamit ng internet. Nahikayat ako ni tynee (kaibigan kong mahilig sa anime) na mag-internet. Opo anime ang dahilan bakit ako nag-internet.
Second year college: Adik na ako sa internet. Halos kabisado ko na ang bawat links sa anipike. Palagi akong nasa pila ng internet lab sa UE. Naging kaibigan ko si janet dahil sa pagkaadik ko na ito. Mishanet – ito ang nagging suki kong internet shop. *note* Ang shop na ito ay ang dating shop kung saan ako inalipusta noong freshman palang ako. Nakilala ko sina Miss Deedee at janet. Naging suki nila ako at ine endorse ko pa sila sa iba kong mga kaibigan. Ang may-ari pa nga ng site ang nagturo sa aking magchat sa MIRC. At naadik din ako sa chat… haaaaay may tendency kasi akong maadik sa mga bagay-bagay(tulad ng playstation at arcade nung highskul). Hnaggang maging sa YM ay nagchachat nadin ako. Minsan nga e 5 hours straight ako sa rentals kahit me klase pa ako ng bandang alas sais. Kinukuha na ng internet ang mga bakante kong oras nung mga panahong yon.
Third year college: First sem noon at tinuruan kami ng coreldraw8. Akalain mo yun na mas magaling pa akong mag coreldraw8 kaysa mag encode at magformat ng document sa MSword. Sa tulong ng librong ibinigay ni Mike (isa sa kaibigan ko nung hayskul na din a mahagilap ngayon) ay mas naging advance ang aking self-study sa bahay. Sa kabutihang palad ay nagkaron na din ako ng pc kaya mas madaling mag-aral. Second sem: Sa wakas ay kinuha ko na rin ang computer 101 na subject. Eto yung basic computer subject na kinukuha pag 1st year ka. Umaga ang sched ko nito at sa hapon ay may Adobe Photoshop5 na klase ako. Nakakatawa ang sitwasyon. Natural nagtataka ang mga kaklase ko at teacher ko dahil medyo marunong na ako sa computer at magaling akong magdesign kahit sa word. Si Sir Abat ang isa sa peborit ko na prof nung college. Pinipilit niya akong sumali sa club niya noon (hindi ako sumama since member na nga ako ng Buklod Sining). Iwas so lucky I have learned a few tricks on MS excel nung mga panahong iyon. I was very thankful for this class. Dito ko unang ginawa ang mga anime button pins. Eto yung mga unang gawa ko sa photoshop5 na anime:
a. season's pin violet (nasa akin parin) b. season's pin blue (nasa sister ko) c. mr.c pin (nasa little sis ko) d. ahmed pin (nasa akin parin) e. mijai pin (gift for mihai) f. silverblade pin (gift for tita ivy) g. mush pin (nasa akin parin); these are just some of the pins I did. These were the first 8 of the collection. Before I use to give these as gifts for my friends kaya lang hindi acid-free ang ginagamit na papel ng nagpiprint e. Nagkakaroon tuloy ng molds kaya I stopped giving them away. Malay natin at mabigyan ko kayo ng isa pag nagkita tayo…heheheh!
Fourth year college: Gamit ang mga basics ng bawat graphic softwares at resources ng internet I really aimed to improve myself. Hanggang ngayon ay praktis parin ako ng praktis, research dito at doon, at hinahasa ko pa ang lahat ng mayroon ako para maging isa sa mga Graphic designer experts na tinatawag. Sa ngayon ay beginner pa rin akong maituturing. Every year may nadedevelop nab ago at kung magpapahuli ka ay mawawalang saysay ang pinag-aralan mo nung isang taon. Sino ang mag-aakalang ang isang batang ni hindi marunong magbukas ng file mula sa floppy disc ay matututo ng advance graphic softwares ngayon? Hold on to your dreams. Believe in your self! Buti nalang at ginawa kong challenge ang lahat ng nangyari sa akin. As long as you're alive you can make a difference! Ang haba ng post ko… ian(",) here!
