One of the best I have ever watched! (Nakakabitin nga e- more more!)
Shakugan no Shana (灼眼のシャナ, Shakugan no Shana? lit. Shana of the Burning Eyes), also known simply as Shana, is a series of Japanese light novels and related media works written by Japanese novelist Yashichiro Takahashi and illustrated by Noizi Ito centering around Yuji Sakai, an ordinary Japanese high school boy who inadvertently becomes involved in a perpetual war between forces of balance and imbalance in existence. In the process, he befriends the title character: a fighter for the balancing force, whom he takes to calling "Shana". The series incorporates science fiction, fantasy, and slice-of-life "school days" elements into its tale.
Shakugan no Shana began as a light novel series first serialized under the seinen label Dengeki Bunko published by MediaWorks with the first complete novel released on November 10, 2002 in Japan. In time, a manga series was created with art by Ayato Sasakura first serialized in the manga magazine Dengeki Daioh, in February 2005. Both the light novel and manga are currently being released in Japan. So far, there have been eighteen light novels and three manga volumes. The most recent light novel, book SII, was released in Japan on June 10, 2008. An anime version was adapted by the animation studio J.C.Staff and contained twenty-four episodes. A Playstation 2 video game released in March 2006 followed and a second video game for the Nintendo DS was released in March 2007. Additional anime adaptations include a thirty-minute Original Video Animation and a movie that was shown in theaters in April 2007. A second anime series was announced with the title Shakugan no Shana Second, which started airing in Japan on October 5, 2007.[1][2]
Viz Media announced at Comic-Con 2006 that they have licensed the right to release the English translations of both the Shakugan no Shana light novels and the manga series. Additionally, Geneon has licensed the first anime TV series in America[3] and the first DVD was released on September 5, 2006.[4] The DVDs are now out of print indefinitely as Geneon withdrew from the American market.
Everything was just amazing... I just thought that a not so tragic ending could make it more perfect. Loved Hotarubi!
Basilisk(バジリスク甲賀忍法帖,Basilisk Kōga Ninpō Chō?) is a Japanesemanga and anime series. The manga was authored by Masaki Segawa and published in Japan in 2003 and 2004, based on the novel The Kouga Ninja Scrolls by Futaro Yamada published in 1958. The anime, produced in 2005 by GONZO Studios, closely follows the manga aside from a handful of distinctions. The manga won the 2004 Kodansha Manga Award for general manga.[3]
The story takes place in the year 1614. Two ninja clans, Tsubagakure of the Iga and Manjidani of Kouga, battle each other to determine which grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu will become the next shogun. The deadly competition between 10 elite ninja from each clan unleashes a centuries-old hatred that threatens to destroy all hope for peace between them.
Brilliant and unpredictable! I enjoyed every single minute of solving this case... wow!

One of the most hateful and well researched piece of crap to pierce-off someone else's heart...
Review I think some things are better left unsaid :D not all well researched stuff brings you to enlightenment- look at what happened to the people who built the tower of Babel, the ancient wonders... :D
I just hope a bit of sensitivity knocks your heart and try to rethink/revise your statements that are piercing hearts of people who DOESN'T DESERVE SUCH MALIGNANT COMMENTS...
I pray that you truly read and understood the bible the way it was intended to be... it's about love, happiness and acceptance... not false judgment and criticism...

THE BIOLOGICAL FACTS show why homosexuality is a HIGH-RISK behavior.
VAGINA • has an acidic environment which hinders bacterial and viral growth RECTUM • has an alkaline environment, which promotes bacterial and viral growth
VAGINA • is lined by a thick layer of stratified squamous epithelium which is resistant to tearing RECTUM • is lined by a thin layer of simple cuboidal epithelium which can tear easily with unnatural forces
VAGINA • secretes a lubricant during intercourse RECTUM • does not secrete a lubricant, only expels feces
In 1996, why did HOMOS comprise 58% of all HIV patients in the U.S., when they make up only 3% of the population?
Answer: HOMOS are living a lifestyle in conflict with the laws of their design. When you eat pudding with a shovel or dig a ditch with a spoon, you are using objects contrary to their design, and harm will certainly result. Homosexuals bring destruction to themselves and others. You do not need to read the Bible to know SODOMY is perverse, you just need to know WHAT YOUR PENIS IS FOR!!! Urination and copulation. The penis was not designed to be shoved up another man’s rectum. The rectum was not designed for penile penetration, a fist, a bottle, a gerbil... The tongue was not designed for the anus, urine for the mouth, etc. (all of the above perverse acts admitted to by a majority of HOMOS in scientific surveys). God created man and woman, and designed sex between them (Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!). God’s laws are for mankind’s benefit. These laws provide the boundaries where sex can be safely enjoyed and maximally productive. God is good and just; therefore these laws have sanctions for transgressors, which is why HOMOS are HELLBOUND!!!....." (Rachelle, Pasig City, Manila)
The construction of the plot and development of the characters are well established. The rendering of the character design are flawless and one character is unique to the other. Surely this series would give you the idea that "you want to watch more".
The North American version of the manga, currently in its 23rd volume, is published by Tokyopop. The anime is licensed by ADV Films.
The series tells the story of Ginji Amano and Ban Mido, a pair of superpowered individuals known as the GetBackers. The duo operates a freelance repossession service (奪還屋,dakkanya?) out of one of the seedier areas of Shinjuku, Tokyo. For a fee, they will recover any lost or stolen item for a client with an "almost 100% success rate".
The GetBackers' job often leads them into bizarre and dangerous situations in order to "get back what shouldn't be gone". Their targets range from lost video games to misplaced components of an atomic bomb. The plot mostly revolves around the their adventures, often complicated by the pair's convoluted, individual pasts and a mysterious place known as the Infinity Fortress(無限城,Mugenjō?).
The main characters are the titular GetBackers, Ban Mido and Ginji Amano. Both possess individual mysterious abilities that aid them in their many recovery missions. Ban's powers include the "Snakebite", a skill which gives his hands a grip of 200 kilograms-force, and the "Evil Eye" (邪眼,Jagan?), an ability to induce minute-long hallucinations on the target of his choosing. Ginji can generate enormous amounts of electrical energy, an ability that has earned him the moniker of "Lightning Lord" (雷帝,Raitei?).
The series has a large cast of supporting characters that includes the GetBackers' friends, enemies and clients.

Witchblade (ウィッチブレイド, Witchibureido?) is an anime series based on the famous American comic book by the same name. Instead of an adaptation of the original story, the producers decided to create an entire new setup, with all new characters. This co-production between Japanese studio Gonzo and American publisher Top Cow, who owns the rights for the Witchblade franchise, is already licensed to release in the United States. The English dub premiered on the US cable network IFC in January of 2008. Unless the show is interrupted, it can be assumed that the series finale will air on June 13, 2008 on IFC, and is currently on Fridays at 11:30 PM ESPtime. The show is also available on a purchase-to-download system on Xbox Live Video Marketplace, the digital video distribution network utilized by Microsoft's Xbox 360 video game console. The first episode is available for free, with all following episodes priced at 160 Microsoft Points (equivalent to $1.99), and as of February 1, 2008, the first 8 episodes were available for download, with each new episode becoming available for download after it is aired. The first twelve episodes are also available for download via Amazon's Unbox service.
The anime is being directed by Yoshimitsu Ohashi, who directed Galaxy Angel and Galaxy Angel Z, and the character designs are done by Uno Makoto, the character designer for Stellvia and Daphne in the Brilliant Blue.
STORY:
In this new approach to the Witchblade universe, the lead character (and blade wielder) is Masane Amaha, a kind-hearted woman who, despite her good intentions, is fairly clumsy and not good around the house. She lost her memory during an unknown catastrophic event that ravaged Tokyo and, curiously, Masane was found unscathed in the phenomenon's ground zero, holding a baby in her arms. Six years later, she returns to Tokyo with the child, now called Rihoko, and for whom she cares as a daughter, where she discovers that the mysterious jewel attached to her right wrist is actually the legendary artifact known as the Witchblade. Since then Masane got herself involved in the struggle for power between a huge corporation and a government agency, while trying to live her life peacefully with her daughter.
>>> One of the fast, breathe-taking and exciting series I have watched... loved the details and color rendering of the animators. The action/battle/fight scenes were fabulous and exciting. The mother-daughter love genre also can touch your heart along side the almost never ending quest for power...
I would recommend this anime series to anyone who would like a different perspective on Japanese horror tales/folklore. The animation style was a fusion of the old and new (You will be reminded of the old Japanese paintings and prints and newest animation techniques instantaneously)
Requiem from the Darkness (京極夏彦 巷説百物語, Kyogoku Natsuhiko Kosetsu Hyaku Monogatari?, lit. "Natsuhiko Kyougoku's Hundred Stories") is a series of novels by Natsuhiko Kyogoku. It was made into horror anime series, licensed in English by Geneon Entertainment, and into a series of live action TV specials directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi.
The plot of the anime revolves around a young writer named Momosuke who wishes to write a book of 100 ghost stories and his encounters with three spirital beings. The three beings are reoccurring characters in the show who function as a team that punishes sinners, most frequently murderers. Their names are Mataichi, a small creature wrapped in bandages who serves as leader of the group, Ogin, an attractive female puppeteer, and Nagamimi, a shape shifter.
The official announcement and teaser trailer of the anime were first shown at the Rondo Robe 2005 "-Gate to Date-" event in Japan on June 26, 2005, and a curtain-raiser DVD was released in Japan during November 2005.[1] An all-ages version of Fate/stay night, titled Fate/stay night Realta Nua, was released for the PlayStation 2 on April 19, 2007, and features the seiyū from the anime series. The series has been adapted into a manga series, which began serialization in the monthly Shōnen Ace magazine.
Fate/stay night chronicles a two-week period in the life of Shirō Emiya, an amateur mechanic who attends school called Homurabara Gakuen in Fuyuki City. Ten years ago, Shirō was caught in a massive fire hazard that incinerated his parents and consumed a large portion of the city; as he was dying, an enigmatic man discovers and treats him. This man, Kiritsugu Emiya, decides to adopt him, though the two maintain a distant relationship because of Kiritsugu's frequent departures from Fuyuki City. One moonlit night, Kiritsugu and Shirō had a discussion outside of their home, and Shirō discovers a fact about his father that Kiritsugu was actually a mage.
“
I have a secret that I haven't told you--- I'm a Magi.
”
Through their conversation, Shirō learns of his foster father's failed life ambition to become a "Hero of Justice" (正義の味方,Seigi no Mikata?), a guardian of mankind who could protect the weak and innocent. Touched by Kiritsugu's conviction, Shirō affirms to his foster father that he intends to devote his life to achieving that distant ideal, much to Kiritsugu's chagrin. To do this, Shirō pleads with a begrudging Kiritsugu to teach him sorcery(魔術,Majutsu?); but Shirō proves to be talentless in almost all the fundamental sorcerous disciplines.
Kiritsugu warns his son that the life of a sorcerer is one that leads to destruction, but if he is truly set on benefiting people, he should apply his knowledge in secret and hone his craft in private. After Kiritsugu dies, Shirō becomes frustrated with his progress, for he feels inadequate about his good deeds through sorcery and is unsure of how to orient his future to contribute more.
Unknown to Shirō, Fuyuki City is the setting for a secret and violent war among competing magi. For the past two centuries, seven sorcerers have gathered and engage in a Battle Royale, each gambling his or her own life to obtain the Holy Grail, a legendary chalice capable of granting wishes. The past four Holy Grail Wars have typically occurred every sixty years, with the most recent concluding a decade ago, but the fifth war has eerily started prematurely.
Each of the sorcerers, better known as Masters, are aided by one of the seven summoned spiritual familiars known as Servants, who are the reincarnations of legendary souls from all across time. These resurrected Epic Spirits(英霊,Eirei?), possess superhuman characteristics and wield powerful artifacts or abilities called Noble Phantasms(宝具,Hōgu?). A Noble Phantasm's hidden abilities may be released by invoking its true name, but casual brandishing of a Noble Phantasm is best avoided, for symbolic Noble Phantasms usually belie a Servant's identity, diminishing that Servant's competitive advantage. Specific legends may be summoned with the aid of catalysts, which are artifacts, ideas, or experiences similar or of value to the desired Servant. Only one Servant can be summoned in each war from one of seven classes: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Berserker, Rider, Assassin, and Caster.
The Holy Grail is a spiritual artifact, so only astral entities, such as Servants, are capable of touching it; this restriction forces Master and Servant to cooperate with each other against rival pairs, even if a situation entails fighting to the death. Masters control Servants with three Command Mantra(令呪,Reiju?), which are crystallized miracles issued by the Holy Grail that manifest on a Master's hand. When activated, Command Mantra permit a Servant to accomplish an incredible feat, or alternatively provide Masters with the authority to issue an irrevocable and absolute order to a Servant. In the event of a Master's demise, a Servant may choose to bind him or herself to another Master; if a Servant is slain, a Master may ally with a wayward Servant or pursue sanctuary with the Holy Grail War's impartial supervisor, who is traditionally a delegate of the Roman Catholic Church.
After cleaning his school's kyūdō (archery) dojo late one night, Shirō stumbles upon two Servants, Archer and Lancer, battling in the school courtyard. To avoid compromising the war's secrecy, Lancer hunts down and pierces Shirō in the heart with a spear. For an unknown reason, Shirō's classmate, Rin Tōsaka, uses an heirloom filled with concentrated magic, Mana(魔力,Maryoku?), to resuscitate him. Shaken and dazed, Shirō goes back to his home, but is again attacked by Lancer. Shirō weakly defends himself against Lancer but is soon overwhelmed by the powerful Servant's attack. After the battle prelonged, Shiro falls into his storage room. Cornered, Shirō prepares for the worst; but before Lancer can inflict another fatal blow, a young woman outfitted in alabaster armor blocks Lancer's spear. She drove Lancer away from Shirou. She introduces herself to Shirō as Saber, and greets him with the words:
Scrapped Princess (スクラップド・プリンセス, Sukurappudo Purinsesu?) is a Japanese light novel series by Ichiro Sakaki and illustrated by Yukinobu Azumi, also known as Nakayohi Mogudan, a popular adult dojin artist. In 2003, it was adapted into an anime series produced by Bones. The character designs in the anime are by Takahiro Komori, who is also known for the designs on another anime series, Cowboy Bebop.
Scrapped Princess is notable for high quality animation.[citation needed] Its music, which is composed by Hikaru Nanase, and its themes, begin as high fantasy and then quickly mixes into varying degrees of post-apocalyptic and science fiction elements through the application of Clarke's third law. The atmosphere has undertones of sadness, though many of the characters and situations are superficially light-hearted.
The anime is distributed in the United States by Bandai Entertainment. There is also a manga adaptation which has also been published in the US by Tokyopop. The manga is only three volumes, and has no plot overlap with the anime; the only things in common are the three main characters, the idea of the Scrapped Princess, and the Mauser Faith they are running from.
The 24-episode series was truly breath-taking and it presented interesting thoughts and ideologies. It is one of those anime that makes a viewer think. The animation is clean and the music is well-suited for the theme. I actually enjoyed watching it. The development of the characters are well made and transitions and the plot are clear. I would suggest you try watching it.
Stardust is a 2007 fantasy film directed by Matthew Vaughn. The film is based on Neil Gaiman's novella of the same name, illustrated by Charles Vess, originally published by DC Comics, and stars an ensemble cast including Robert De Niro, Claire Danes, Nathaniel Parker, Peter O'Toole, David Kelly, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sienna Miller, Ricky Gervais and Charlie Cox.
The story begins around 150 years ago, in an English town named Wall. Wall is built beside a wall that is a portal to a magical kingdom named Faerie, which includes the realm of Stormhold. After a man named Dunstan Thorne (Nathaniel Parker as the elder) crosses the wall in spite of a guard trying to prevent this, he meets and makes love to a woman, Una (Kate Magowan), who is the slave of the witch Ditchwater Sal (Melanie Hill). Nine months later, Una sends him a baby in a basket, their infant son, Tristan (originally "Tristran" in the book).
Eighteen years later, the King of Stormhold (Peter O'Toole) is dying, and his seven sons, four alive (Septimus, Primus, Tertius, and Secundus) and three already dead and looking on as ghosts (Quartus, Quintus, and Sextus) fight for who will be the next king. Secundus appears late, and the king tricks him into being pushed off a balcony and down a cliff by Septimus (Mark Strong). Secundus (Rupert Everett) then appears along with the other three dead brothers, his face smashed in from the impact of the ground. The King turns a ruby into a diamond and says that whichever son retrieves it and returns it to a ruby will be king. The ruby knocks a star out of the sky, which the grown Tristan Thorne (Charlie Cox) sees. Tristan promises to retrieve the star for the beautiful yet conventional Victoria (Sienna Miller) to prove his love for her. However, at the same time, three witch sisters see the falling star, and one, Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer), leaves to capture it so, by devouring its heart, she and her sisters will be restored to beauty and power. Tristan tries to cross the wall, but the guard, in spite of his old age, manages to stop him in the fight that ensues.
Dunstan gives Tristan a package left with him by his mother, which turns out to be a Magic Flower and a Babylon candle that allows one to travel wherever one wishes. Though intending to travel to his mother, Tristan accidentally thinks of Victoria and the fallen star and instead finds himself at the star's crash site in Stormhold and ends up bowling over a startled young woman named Yvaine (Claire Danes), who, it turns out, is the star. Tristan resolves to take her back to Victoria anyway and traps her with an enchanted chain and promising her the remains of the Babylon candle if she comes with him to Victoria.
Yvaine manages to escape Tristan with the help of a Unicorn, but is lured into a trap by Lamia, who is posing as a kindly innkeeper. The stars whisper to Tristan while he sleeps, telling him he must protect Yvaine. He is told a coach is coming, and that he must get on it by any means possible. The coach is occupied with the four dead brothers, and although Tristan fails to jump on as it races by, they stop and Primus allows him to get on. When they arrive at the Inn, Lamia kills Primus by slitting his throat (leaving Septimus as the only remaining son and putative heir), and both Yvaine and Tristan barely escape with their lives when Tristan uses the stub of his Babylon candle to transport them "home"; but because they have differing ideas of home, they go halfway between both their homes, and are left in the sky standing and arguing on clouds.
Tristan and Yvaine are captured by the "notorious" Captain Shakespeare (Robert De Niro) on a flying pirate ship, but he reveals that he is secretly a flamboyant drag queen who shuns killing and is very proud of his reputation. He used to dream of crossing the Wall to England in much the same way that Tristan dreams of traveling to far away places for adventure. He teaches them various things during their stay on his ship, fencing for Tristan, the piano to Yvaine, and the waltz for both of them. Shakespeare drops off Yvaine and Tristan near Wall (and gives advice to Tristan that his true love may be the star). Shortly afterwards, Shakespeare's crew saves him from the last surviving prince of Stormhold (the ruthless Septimus) and reveal they always knew he was a "whoopsie". While Septimus and Lamia both converge on Yvaine, she and Tristan fall in love though neither would admit it. They end up in front of Sal and Una (though Una is enchanted to be a bird, so they mostly ignore her). Sal tricks Tristan into giving up his magic flower (which protects the wearer from magic) for a ride to the wall and turns him into a mouse out of spite. On the way Yvaine admits her love to Tristan who doesn't seem to notice anything but his piece of cheese. Shockingly Sal keeps her end of the bargain and changes him back to human form and in an inn Tristan asks if Yvaine meant what she said in the caravan confusing Yvaine until she realized he understood everything she said including her love confession. Horrified, she is comforted by Tristan who reveals he feels the same way, the two finally kiss and the end up spending a night of passion together in bed.
While Yvaine sleeps, Tristan leaves her to deliver a lock of Yvaine's hair to Victoria as proof that he found the fallen star and to tell Victoria that he no longer loves her. While there Victoria, seeing how Tristan's appearance has changed, tries to win his heart but Tristan refuses. Humphrey, who planned to marry Victoria, tried to duel Tristan but Tristan proved that he'd learnt a thing or two about sword fighting and scares him away. At the same time, Lamia, Yvaine, Una, and Ditchwater Sal meet at the border between Wall and Stormhold (Yvaine believes that Tristan has returned to marry Victoria and intends to enter Wall to find him. Una steals Sal's caravan to warn her that if she enters Wall, Yvaine will turn into a rock). Lamia kills Sal, freeing Una from her chain; however, Lamia then abducts Una and Yvaine and takes them to her home where her sisters are waiting. Septimus and Tristan both pursue Lamia, and form an uneasy alliance (as Septimus points out that neither would survive on their own), while Yvaine has been strapped down by Lamia and her sisters to have her heart cut out. In the ensuing battle, both of Lamia's sisters are killed, but Lamia kills Septimus in turn, and reanimates his corpse to attack Tristan. Tristan crushes him with a chandelier. As Lamia is about to strike the final blow, she instead cuts Yvaines bonds while weeping about how Eternal Youth and Beauty is pointless without her sisters. At first the couple tried to leave but Lamia reveals her happiness that she can keep Yvaines heart for herself (she pretended to let them go to make Yvaine happy, as a star's heart must be happy to truly shine with power). Yvaine tells Tristan to hold her and then sets off a massive burst of starlight which kills Lamia. She tells Tristan that she could only do that when she was truly happy, as she was now that she knows he loves her.
Una reveals that she was the only daughter of the King of Stormhold, which makes her son, Tristan, the throne's only surviving male heir. After retrieving the gem from the necklace Yvaine had been carrying, the red from the colorless ruby returns, proving that Tristan is of royal blood. In the end Tristan becomes the new king, and Yvaine his queen. At the coronation, Una, now united with her love Dunstan, gives him a Babylon candle, and after eighty years of ruling and once their children and grandchildren have grown up, Tristan and Yvaine light the Babylon candle and travel into the heavens and become twin stars.
*Oh where is my review? It was one adult-fantasy-love story that made me feet young again! One of the best movies I have seen for this year! Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert de Niro were the best in portraying their roles. The setting was superb... everything was visually satisfying and a true feast for the eyes. The storyline was a lyrical play of vivace, tempo and presto with the right amount of mixture. The musical score was magical - from start to finish. A movie that made me "glow" and think- either I find my star (And get its heart to be immortal and forever beautiful harharhar or find it and share my heart with the same star) or be a star (for someone that would notice and appreciate my glow :D)...
A Common Thread (International: English title) Brodeuse (France) (working title) Sequins (USA) (DVD title)

-The movie was satisfying equipped with good visual scenes and a great musical score. A simple storyline given another viewpoint. Themes discussed were about family, abortion and the beauty of motherhood and friendship. ( I just watched it for free sa Shangri_La Plaza yesterday... Try nyo panoorin!
