One of my idols! A native of Toronto, Glen Hanson is an internationally acclaimed illustrator, art director and writer.
After studying animation at Sheridan College, Glen went on to design characters for TV's BABAR, BEETLE JUICE and DARIA cartoon shows. In 2000 he was nominated for an ANNIE AWARD for his art direction and design on MTV's SPY GROOVE series. He has since developed shows for NICKELODEON and DISNEY studios. Most recently he has co-written, designed and storyboarded a series of promo spots for SOAP NET guised as an animated mock soap opera and titled “CRESCENT HOLLOW”.
Glen's illustrations have appeared in a variety of publications around the world including BRITISH VOGUE and GQ, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, NEWSWEEK, THE WALL ST. JOURNAL, MAXIM, FHM and VARIETY. Celebrities like CAROL BURNETT, ROSIE O'DONNELL, BILLY CRYSTAL, MARY TYLER MOORE and TOM CRUISE all own original caricatures created by Glen.

His roster of advertising clients includes TIMEX, GRAND MARNIER, McDonald’s, and SKIPPY PEANUT BUTTER. His work can be seen on illustrated book covers for RANDOM HOUSE, KENSINGTON, HARLEQUIN, the poster for the Off-Broadway hit play “ALTAR BOYZ” and on CD covers like BLINK 182's "THE MARK, TOM and TRAVIS SHOW" for which Glen was awarded a certificate of excellence from the AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF GRAPHIC ARTS.
Across the US, Glen’s images adorn gift set boxes and print ads for BOD men’s and women’s fragrance products. They can also be spotted on the runways of Milan on a series of t-shirts as part of the spring and fall ’05 collections of European men’s wear designer, ANDREW MACKENZIE. Ads designed by Glen have appeared in the men’s fashion bible, L’UOMO VOGUE, for both Andrew’s spring and fall collections.
Under the pseudonym of G-MAN, Glen has created a popular series of beefcake images that have been used in print ads, magazine covers, party products, and a
line of greeting cards for NOBLEWORKS. The first ever collection of G-MAN images is available in a hardbound book from publisher BRUNO GMUNDER along with G-MAN t-shirts.
For over 7 years now, Glen has illustrated and written, along with Allan Neuwirth, the internationally syndicated comic CHELSEA BOYS. The expoits of Nathan, Soiree and Sky, who live together in New York's hippest neighborhood, are followed by thousands of readers across the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and South Africa. In 2003, ALYSON BOOKS released the first CHELSEA BOYS BOOK, which was nominated for a LAMBDA LITERARY AWARD in the best humor book category. A 2nd full color book will be coming out in October of 2006 published through BRUNO GMUNDER. Glen and Allan also collaborated writing DC COMIICS', "WONDER WOMAN VS. The RED MENACE" graphic novel.
Glen currently lives in Los Angeles and is working with Allan Neuwirth on developing CHELSEA BOYS into an animated series as well as a host of other TV, print and online projects.
